UN Global Road Safety Campaign launch - Media Breakfast and Roundtable on the State of Road Safety in South Africa

Minister of Transport, Sindisiwe Chikunga and the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety, Mr Jean Todt will host a media dialogue on the State of Road Safety in South Africa. Together with the Minister Chikunga, the Special Envoy engaged in the Media Breakfast and Roundtable discussion with the chief executive officers of the Department of Transport and roads entities within the Department of Transport of South Africa, which included CEOs from department of transport agencies such as RTMC, Road Accident Fund, SANRAL, who shared road safety strategies and explored ways to achieve the campaign’s objectives. Minister Chikunga emphasized the need to have smart roads and utilize technology to keep roads safe.
